Blackout pleated blinds – when a room is simply too bright
Morning sunlight in the bedroom, a child’s room that is too bright during an afternoon nap or distracting reflections on a screen can quickly become uncomfortable. In these situations, a light-filtering window covering may not be enough. A blackout pleated blind reduces the amount of light entering the room while also protecting your privacy from outside.
Each blind is made to your exact measurements. In the configurator, you can select the width, height, colour and preferred fitting method. This allows the blind to be tailored to anything from a small window to a tall balcony door.
What does 100% blackout actually mean?
The term “100% blackout” refers to the fabric itself. When the blind is fully closed, light does not pass through the blackout material. However, this does not mean that the room will be completely dark in every installation. A small amount of light may enter around the edges of the blind. The final result therefore also depends on accurate measurements and the chosen fitting method.
If you want to achieve the strongest possible blackout effect, pay particular attention to measuring the width and height correctly. This is especially important in bedrooms, children’s rooms and rooms used by shift workers who sleep during the day.
A light colour does not mean less effective blackout
The blackout properties of the fabric are the same across all available colours. White, cream and sand-coloured blinds also provide 100% blackout at fabric level. You do not need to choose a dark blind if a lighter shade suits your window frame or interior better.
Six colours are available: White, Silver, Light Grey, Cream, Dark Turquoise and Sand. Before placing your order, you can request a fabric sample to see how the colour looks next to your window in daylight and in the evening.

Choose the fitting method before measuring your window
The fitting method determines where the width and height should be measured. Choose one of the available fitting systems before taking any measurements.
Screw fitting
This permanent fitting method requires a few small holes in the window sash. The blind sits close to the windowpane and remains stable when the window is opened or tilted. This option is suitable when drilling into the window sash is permitted.
Clamp bracket fitting
The clamp brackets are attached to the window sash without drilling. The blind can easily be removed later, making this a convenient option for rented properties or anywhere you do not want to drill into the window sash.
Adhesive bracket fitting
This fitting method also requires no drilling. The brackets are attached directly to the window sash using adhesive. Their position should be marked carefully before installation, as removing and reattaching them may weaken the adhesive bond.
Once you have chosen the fitting system, follow the corresponding measuring guide. Blackout pleated blinds are available in widths from 30 to 130 cm and heights from 40 to 230 cm.
