Made-to-measure standard pleated blinds – softer daylight indoors
Not every room needs to be completely dark. In the living room, kitchen or home office, softening direct sunlight is often enough to make the space more comfortable. Standard pleated blinds diffuse incoming light and gently shade the room while still allowing daylight through.
Each blind is made to your measurements. In the configurator, you choose the width, height, fabric colour, profile colour and fitting method. This allows you to match the blind to your window and interior.
How much light do standard pleated blinds block?
The Standard fabric is light-filtering, with an approximate light-blocking level of 50% as specified in the product range. It provides gentle shading rather than blackout. Even when the blind covers the entire windowpane, diffused daylight continues to enter the room.
This does not mean that every room will be exactly half as bright. The perceived brightness depends on factors including sunlight exposure, window size, fabric colour and interior finishes. Moving the blind changes how much of the glass is covered, rather than the light-filtering properties of the fabric itself.
Which rooms suit light-filtering blinds?
Standard pleated blinds are particularly suitable for spaces used mainly during the day. In a living room, they can soften sunlight around a seating area. In a kitchen, they can screen a window facing a neighbouring building. In a home office, they can help reduce distracting sunlight around your workspace.
If your priority is stronger light reduction for sleeping, consider blackout pleated blinds. Honeycomb blinds are another option if you also want the added insulation provided by their cellular fabric construction.
How much privacy does a standard pleated blind provide?
A closed blind reduces direct views through the window. However, the privacy offered by light-filtering fabric depends on the lighting conditions. When it is dark outside and the room lights are on, silhouettes may be visible through the material. Gentle shading should therefore not be confused with complete privacy in all conditions.

Choose a fabric colour to suit your room
The range includes neutral whites, beiges and greys alongside bolder shades. A light-coloured blind can blend discreetly with the window frame, while a colourful fabric can complement your walls, furniture or accessories.
With light-filtering fabrics, it is worth checking a sample directly against the windowpane. Look at it in sunshine, on an overcast day and with the room lights switched on. A colour displayed on a screen cannot show exactly how the fabric will look at your window.
Three ways to fit standard pleated blinds
DRILL – screw fitting
The blind is screwed into place in the glazing bead area of the opening window sash. It sits close to the glass, and installation requires small drill holes. Choose this method if drilling is permitted at the points specified in the fitting instructions.
LUX – no-drill clamp brackets
The clamp brackets attach to the top and bottom of the window sash. With this fitting method, the fabric overlaps the frame without the need for drill holes. The brackets can be removed later, making this a practical option for rented properties.
STICK – adhesive brackets
The brackets attach to the window sash using adhesive, with no drilling required. Before fitting, mark their position carefully and prepare the surface as directed in the instructions. Removing and reattaching the brackets may weaken the adhesive bond.
How should you measure your window before ordering?
Choose the fitting method first, as this determines where to measure. A blind fitted close to the glass requires different measurements from one whose fabric overlaps the frame. Follow the measuring guide for DRILL, LUX or STICK, then enter the width and height in the configurator.
The blinds can be ordered in widths from 30 to 140 cm and heights from 40 to 230 cm. Before buying, also check that the selected brackets are suitable for your window.
